October is World Menopause Month, so I wrote a piece for the Sunday Express and Sunday Mirror newspapers about how our diets can help beat some of the uncomfortable symptoms of the menopause.
From brain fog to fragile bones, hot flushes to night sweats, disturbed sleep to joint pain, eating and drinking the right things can help alleviate and reduce many of these maddening problems.

Some takeaways include:
*foods rich in magnesium like bananas and avocados can dampen down cortisol and so ease anxiety.
*omega-3 anti-inflammatory foods like oily fish can help reduce inflammation and soothe stiff joints.
*foods that contain phytoestrogens (like soybeans, lentils) plant-based compounds that mimic oestrogen in the body, may be helpful to ease hot flushes and night sweats.
