I’m a journalist with over 25 years experience of writing for national newspapers and magazines – first as a feature writer on desks at various women’s magazines in London (such as Wedding & Home, Woman’s Own and Bella) and now as a freelancer for popular women’s magazines, websites and national papers such as The Daily Mirror, Daily Express and the Sunday Express Magazine.

In my career I’ve been lucky enough to write about a wide range of subjects and have met hundreds of inspiring people who’ve trusted me with their stories; from children who care for their parents, people battling illness, teachers and volunteers who go the extra mile, and those who’ve suffered immeasurable loss. I’ve interviewed numerous top experts in their field – from doctors to psychologists from all over the world – and been a finalist in the Mind Journalist of the Year awards.
As well as health and real-life features, I’ve been fortunate enough to write travel features which have taken me all over the world to report on everything from orphan orangutan-watching in Borneo to cruising the Caribbean; perfume-making in the India Ocean’s Comoros to hiking in the Dolomites ; reliving the golden age of train travel aboard the Orient Express bound for Vienna and capturing the romance of Rajput palaces in India. Lately, too, I’ve also been trying to ‘do my bit’ by writing sustainability and eco-features, looking at products and people who go to great lengths not to harm the planet.
In another guise, I work as a copywriter, writing creative and compelling copy for brands, websites and companies and my book ‘222 Ways to Trick Yourself to Sleep’ was published by Piatkus in March 2019 https://amzn.to/2ExS32O with foreign rights sold to the USA, Japan, France, Finland, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Poland.
I live in Cardiff with my partner Alistair ( a press and TV/film stills photographer) and we have two grown up sons, a cat and a cocker spaniel.
